I work at a large software company bringing the joy of caffeine and office supplies to the software engineers and other folks wot work there.

I'm a fake extrovert. I love meeting new people, talking to strangers on the T, and socializing with my friends, but if I spend too much time doing that without breaks for alone time I will end up hating the entire world. So... alone time is awesome.

I have three younger siblings. One lives in Vermont and is a waitress and is really chill and cheerful and friendly, one lives in North Carolina and is finishing up her PhD at CalTech (she's very nifty as well), and my little brother lives in MA and works for an environmental consulting firm and is the best younger brother possible. :)

I get along really well with my parents. They have a house in Vermont where my Vermont sister lives, but they also have a house in Massachusetts.

I majored in geology and English. I used to work in educational publishing and then I spent several years flailing about, temping, working at a SciFi bookstore, being a receptionist (which caused me to have horrible RSI-- my current job requires almost no typing, which is pretty much why I wanted it to be my job.

Er....I talk/type/communicate a lot, but am actually a rather private person in some ways. *shrug*

I'm kind of small. I have very short red hair and red-brown eyes. I'm half Irish, half Ashkenazic Jew (Ukrainian and Hungarian). I was raised Jewish and still consider myself to be Jewish but I'm extremely lazy about it.

I started working in a used bookstore when I was 14. I was in charge of the science fiction/fantasy section. It was the best first job for geeky awkward teenaged me.

I am typing this all up on my Vermont sister's new MacBook (she got the white one) and I am suffering from technology lust. My own computer is rather ancient.
