Went to The Avengers last night. Enjoyed it quite a bit. It was not perfect, but it was still pretty great. Had been thoroughly spoiled, but that does not take away from my enjoyment as I am a spoiler fiend of longstanding. (Do you guys remember when Farscape was on the air and you had to hunt down spoilers and kill them with your bare hands, devour their flesh, drink their blood, and suck the marrow from their little spoiler bones? I did that a lot. Yum.)

Anyway...will probably go to see The Avengers again at some point.

Also: to all of you who got up to leave the theatre before the credits had even begun to roll-- You must be new here. Freshly hatched from whatever rock-egg thing you were dwelling in/under.

Hello from Salt Lake City! I am here visiting the most excellent and amazing [livejournal.com profile] theamusedone. His cats are adorable, and we are going to watch some Avatar:The Last Airbender now because I have never seen it and it's all anyone is talking about these days, when they aren't talking about The Avengers.

Oh, you guys. I am stuck at reception today because LH is out sick. By the end of the day everything will hurt from sitting still too much and my Fitbit will be tragically disappointed in me.

Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] corruptviridian unpacked a mini disco ball from a box of wonderful things her parents sent her. I named it Maureen Johnson & we hung it in our studio window. I know that makes me sound like a giant weirdo (and here is where certain people would say that I am really a small-to-medium-sized weirdo) but I think Maureen Johnson would be honored.

We are still making our slow way through season 1 of Fringe. I am so much more fond of the episodes with creepy psychological mind games & super powers than the ones with monsters. I am such a wimp about fake monsters, you guys. I am still really enjoying the show, despite the monsters.

I will probably spam lj/dw all day long. This is what happens when I'm stuck at reception. Sorry?

Black sesame cupcakes are one of the best things ever. Thank you Jen C! You are awesome!

Arggghh I accidentally woke up at 5:15am what the everloving fuck.

So...Boskone has been fun. I have seen friends I have not seen I a while, and even if some of them are jerks, I still think they are pretty great.

I forgot how much I just...don't care about panels anymore. I mean, YA-related panels are pretty entertaining (but even that one was frustrating because they were all, oh, boys don't read and when they do don't want to read books about girls and I was like I know people who could say intelligent things about that but I am going to fail to do that), but everything is else is like "Oh, right, I've been going to cons since I was 16. I've been to this panel before. Bored now." Le sigh. (Also Boskone is not my favorite con for panels anyway so...whatevercakes.) But readings are still fun things, so there is that.

I managed to find a bunch of books for cheap. And then I spent actual money on more books. And today I need to get two more heavy books for Ms. Corrupt.

And then maybe I will go to the studio?

I left the con at before 10pm both Friday and Saturday because I was tired. How mature of me, yeah? Also, I've been kind of running myself ragged for no good reason so it's not wonder I am tired.

In an effort to be a more social person I am indeed going to be at Boskone. And I was planning to commute because I live in Somerville, but the red line is kind of effed up on the weekends so...is there anyone who has room for one smallish farwing to crash with them at the Boskone hotel on Saturday night? If not, no worries. Ooooh. I wonder if I can get in contact with my Odyssey peeps. Hmmm.

Things I forgot today:

1) My belt. Lucky I have a spare in my desk. All my corduroys are kind of too big for me & I need to have my belt pouch on an actual belt.

2) My quiche that I was going to have for dinner because I am going to a movie thingy after work so I should eat first.

Also, I am really, really tired. And I didn't get as much done last night as I meant to, & I could only find one yaktrack & I thought wearing just one would be a little odd, but I did do a load of laundry, so yay clean clothes!

Also also, apparently Sarah Shahi has a new show out this week called Fairly Legal and wow will I be watching that. Nothing will ever be as good as Life, but she is so so awesome. Maybe her new show will be decent?

It's a really good thing we don't have to go to work tomorrow, because [livejournal.com profile] corruptviridian and I just watched the last 6 episodes of Life in a mad rush. Oh my god. I may never love another tv show again. Nothing else is ever going to be that awesome for me. Sorry, all you other tv shows. (NBC, you suck like a chest wound.)

And now I am going to bed. But soon I will watch it all over again with the correct soundtrack.

[livejournal.com profile] corruptviridian and I have decided that someone needs to write the fic where John Crichton & Charlie Crews meet. Like...John is back on earth, in LA, and he ends up meeting Crews and it would be so amazing because who is more crazy? I don't know! It would be disastrously awesome. Right? And, like, Ted and Aeryn would be awesome together. They would make the same faces at the craziness.

I don't know what kind of bribe I could offer for this but...I could paint something or just be amazingly grateful. God, I really need this fic to happen so badly.

Or, if someone has already done this then, you know, point me to it.

Also: Charlie Crews would want to eat alien fresh fruit. You know this to be the truth.

Also...I was gonna post some sort of poll. I remember having a really hilarious idea for a ridiculous poll over the weekend but now of course I cannot remember what it was going to be about. Maybe my helpful housemates remember? Oh well.

I did get to watch some Farscape last night with [livejournal.com profile] corruptviridian and wow. I mean, it's my favorite show for a reason, but I actually have not seen anything past season one since it was cancelled and watching, say, "Out of Their Minds" made me so so so so happy that I actually own all of it now. Nothing else compares, really. I mean, there are other shows I love, but they just can't reach the levels of pure crazy-awesome that Farscape did. Plus, John and Aeryn are my favorite television romantic pairing of all time. Hell, they might even be my favorite romantic pairing of all time period. Such awesome snarky hotness!

In conclusion: I love my cancelled nutbar of a show!!!!

I just pre-ordered the complete series of Farscape. (It was kind of...shockingly afforadable, all of a sudden.) Oh, my favorite show ever! I will soon own all of your seasons! If only SciFi hadn't cancelled you (I'm not still bitter. Nope.) I would have even more seasons to lust after.

Now I can make everyone watch Farscape with me over and over again. Gleeeeee!

With my new haircut I resemble a little, sleep-deprived, red-headed hedgehog. Um. *pets own head*

I'm going to Montreal for Worldcon tomorrow morning. So I probably won't be on the internets all that much over the next five days. Try not to burn the place down while I'm gone.

I'll be helping out with the kaffeeklatsches, so if you want to find me that's a good place to start.

I want a nap.
