ROOM FOR RENT in a delightful Somerville house. We're located about ten minutes from the Davis Square T station, in Ball Square. The room that's available is west-facing (it's reportedly the warmest room in the house, which sometimes a plus). The rent is $575/month, and utilities can vary dramatically from season to season. We generally keep the place between 55-60 in the winter, which keeps the heating bill down.
The apartment is the top two floors of a blue house (we just had a heated discussion about what color the trim is). The landlady lives downstairs and is totally delightful. There are grapes growing downstairs, which she lets us eat some of (she sometimes makes grape juice, and we've been known to make grape jelly). The downstairs common space is open-plan & full of natural light; we have a pretty sweet kitchen, once you get used to its quirks.
The current occupants are:
farwing, who runs around making sure people at a tech company get their coffee and their breakfasts. On weekends she does strange watercolors of alien single-celled organisms and cityscapes. She's very talkative.
corruptviridian teaches papermaking and letterpress printing. She also prints chapbooks, posters, and ... you know. Stuff. She designs books and builds machines for money. She also reads many, many books, and sometimes writes reviews. She's not terribly chatty, and she's mostly nocturnal, given the choice.
Brendan is joining the house in September. He is teaches guitar and seems delightful.
